Thelma L. Jacklyn, age 81, a 10 year resident of Washington Township and formerly from Shelby Township, passed away on Tuesday, October 7, 2014 at her home. Thelma was born December 9, 1932 in Mexico, Missouri, the daughter of Revis and Mildred (Holtkamp) Ward. She married Richard Jacklyn on December 19, 1949 in Ferndale, MI. For many years, Thelma was a secretary for Bristlecone Nursery in Shelby Township. Upon retirement, Thelma enjoyed spending winters in Las Vegas, Nevada and traveling all over the country. Thelma is survived by her husband Richard, 5 sons: Richard & Louie Jacklyn both of Washington Township, Jack (Kay) & Dave (Linda) Jacklyn both of Shelby Township, and Scott Jacklyn of Almont, MI. Also survived by 17 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren, and 1 great great grandchild along with one sister Leta Tobianski of Harrison, MI., and brother Gene (Polly) Ward of Hersey, MI. She was preceded in death by her daughter in law, Geri Jacklyn. Funeral services will take place on Friday at 11 AM at the Henry M. Malburg Funeral Home of Romeo with Pastor Eric Majeski of Grace Lutheral Fellowship officiating. Visitation will take place on Thursday from 3-7 PM.
