Theodore Joseph Czajka

Theodore J. Czajka, age 86, a 52 year resident of Romeo and formerly from Detroit, passed away on Monday, August 15, 2011 at his home. Theodore was born December 29, 1924 in Detroit, the son of Stanley and Anna (Obloy) Czajka. He married the former Violet Hobrzyk on January 26, 1948 and she preceded him in death 1983. Theodore attended Wayne State University and earned a degree in engineering and then worked for General Motors at the Tech Center in Warren as a Senior Process Engineer until health reasons forced him to retire in 1982. Theodore loved his Catholic Faith, traditional values, and being with his family. He served his country during WW II in the Army, serving in the Asian/Pacific Theater, in the Countries of India, Burma, and China. He earned a Bronze Star Ribbon, good conduct medal, distinguish Unit Badge and Victory Medal before he left the Army on December 8, 1945 with a Honorable Discharge. Theodore was a former member of the Romeo Lions Club. Theodore is survived by his children: Franklin (Nancy) Czajka of Ann Arbor, Bradley Czajka of Birmingham, MI., Dennis Czajka of Plano, TX., Theodore Czajka, Jr. of Romeo and Victoria Grit of Zeeland, MI. Also survived by 12 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren and his brothers Ervin (Frieda) Czajka of Flatrock, MI., and Jake (Pauline) Czajka of Allen Park, MI. Theodore was preceded in death by his brother Raymond and daughter in law Sharon. Funeral services will take place on Friday at 10 AM at St Clement Catholic Church of Romeo with burial to follow at Resurrection Cemetery in Clinton Township. Donations to Season’s Hospice would be appreciated. Visitation will be on Thursday from 3-9 PM at the Henry M. Malburg Funeral Home, Romeo Michigan.
