Thomas Louis Trbovich, age 61, a 34 year resident of Romeo, passed away on Saturday, April 19, 2008 at Crittenton Hospital in Rochester, Michigan. Tom was born March 31, 1947 in Detroit, the son of Steve and Elizabeth (Hanses) Trbovich. Tom married Barbara Spehar on March 20, 1971 at St Sylvester Catholic Church in Warren. Tom graduated with his bachelors degree from Oakland University and his M.B.A. from Baker College. He worked for Ford Motor Company until 2003 in the body and assembly department: first at the Romeo Tractor Plant and then till retirement in Dearborn. Tom was an active member of the Romeo Lions Club, serving as its president, receiving the prestigious Melvin Jones Award, & being an announcer for many years in front of the Romeo School administrating building during the Peach Festival parade. He was instrumental in re-doing the current Lions Hall, and helped with designing and building the gazebos in the both the Village Park and the Community Center. He also was the founder of the Lions Scholarship Committee in which he currently oversees. Tom was an active Little League Coach and helped coach soccer for many years. His hobbies include cooking, golfing, and traveling when possible. He served his Country in the Marines and was a longtime member of St Clement Catholic Church of Romeo. Tom is survived by his wife Barbara, sons: Scott (Bridget) and their children Abbey, Lily, & Tommy of Oxford and Todd (Lori) of Romeo. Sibling surviving include Don (Kim) Trbovich of Oxford, Darlene (Jerry) Kozlowski of Troy, & Judy (Roy) Schoenherr of Algonac. Funeral services will take place on Tuesday at 10 AM at St Clement Catholic Church of Romeo with burial to follow at the Romeo Cemetery. Donations to the Romeo Lions or to the Samaritan House would be appreciated. Visitation will take place on Monday from 2:30 - 9 PM. Arrangements by the Henry M. Malburg Funeral Home, Romeo, Michigan.
