Thomas Pytleski

July 30, 1933 — January 22, 2012

Thomas Pytleski, age 78, a 6 year resident of Allenton and since 1971 a resident of Leonard, Michigan passed away at his home on Sunday, January 22, 2012. Tom was born July 30, 1933 in Detroit, the son of Joseph and Helen (Kowalczyk) Pytleski. He married the former Dolores Burzych on May 1, 1954 at St Florian Catholic Church in Hamtramck and she preceded him in death on April 7, 2000. Tom then married Karen Bennett (Derring) on April 27, 2006 at St Clement Catholic Church. Tom, along with his family, were longtime custom home builders in the Tri-County area, under the name “Pytleski Building and Carpentry”. Tom and his family were active in St Clement Catholic Church, helping out with many construction projects over the years. He was also a longtime member of Knights of Columbus of Imlay City. His motto was “He lived to work, and worked to live”. Thomas is survived by his wife Karen of Allenton, children: Michael (Jill) of St Clair, Thomas Jr. of Romeo, Steven (Kim) of Rochester, Tony of St Clair, and Diane (Wes) Bernier of Gaylord. Also survived by 18 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. Siblings include Joseph (Marge) of Flat Rock, MI., Jimmy (Stella) of Clinton Twp., Raymond (Flo) of Allenton, Frances Clarke of California and Eddie also of Allenton. Tom was preceded in death by siblings: Helen Byrnes, & Leonard. Funeral services will take place on Wednesday at 11 AM at St Clement Catholic Church of Romeo with burial to follow at the Romeo Cemetery. Visitation will be on Tuesday from 1-9 with a 8 PM rosary by the Knight of Columbus, Council #7018 of St Clement of Romeo.
