Trudy Dodson, age 76, a resident of Romeo, Michigan since 1981, passed away on September 30, 2020 at her home. Trudy was born on September 2, 1944 in Detroit, Michigan, the daughter of Charles and Alice (Boettcher) Bannow. Trudy graduated from Utica High School in 1962, then worked for Weeki Wachee as a mermaid for 8 years. In 1974, Trudy came to Romeo and started Bannow’s Flowers which operated from 1974-2002, and she ran Bannow’s School of Flower’s until 2008. Trudy also loved to knit, sew, travel, work in her garden, and help in her church, St Paul’s Episcopal Church of Romeo. Trudy is survived by her son Thomas “Chip” Bruce Dodson of California, daughter Julie (Chris) McCready of Ravenna, Michigan, brother Reed Bannow (Nancy) of Arlington, Texas, sister Sherry (Don) Mandley, of Mason, Michigan, granddaughter Melissa (Joshua) Kent of Corpus Christi, TX., and great-grandson Hunter, as well as many nieces and nephews. Trudy is predeceased by her husband, Bruce Dodson in 2007, and Darlene Pattyn in 2009. Funeral services will take place on Wednesday, October 7 at 10:30 AM at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, with visitation on Tuesday October 6 from 4-8 at the Henry M. Malburg Funeral Home, Romeo Michigan.
