Truman W. Craft

Truman W. Craft, age 97, a 13 year resident of Romeo and formerly from Mt Clemens, passed away on Sunday, September 27, 2015 at the Pine Ridge Assisted Living in Shelby Township, Michigan. Truman was born in Macomb Township, MI., the son of Henry S. and Grace (Langfield) Craft. He married the former Ernista Lemp on June 10, 1939 at Gilbert Memorial Baptist Church in Mt Clemens, and she preceded him in death on August 18, 2010. Truman retired from Detroit Edison as a line designer estimator in 1978 after 41 years of service. He previously worked and helped to design recreational vehicles in Mt Clemens with the company “Coverwagon Indi”. He also worked in the machine shop for Chrysler Corporation and was a graduate of Milan High School in 1935. Truman, along with his family, were also longtime owners of the “Craft’s Orchard & Cider Mill” just north of Hall Road on Gratiot from 1948—2001. Upon retirement, Truman enjoyed traveling, having been to 47 States and Mexico. Truman is survived by his children: Truman A. (Judith) of Armada Twp., Marvin (Sharon) of Washington Twp., and Karen (Patrick) Lukosavich of Romeo. Grandchildren include Terri (Marc) Girard, Brian Craft, Marc & Michael Lukosavich, Jodi Anderson, & Robert Kimball. Great grandchildren include Scarlett, Korbyn, Camrym, Alexys, Collins, Nicholas, Amber, Maverick, Emilia, and Giuliana. Also survived by siblings: Ruth Schonschak of Florida, Alma Scheele of Il., Tom (Marilyn) St. Clair Shores, Marjorie (Earl) Greene of Raleigh, NC., Martin of Florida, and Amy Dubois of Lake Orion. Truman was preceded in death by his wife, daughter Sharon Cukr and siblings: George, Stanley Jr., Donald, Emily Valentine, Florence Rickard, John, and Robert Craft. Funeral services will take place on Thursday, October 1, 2015 at 11 AM at the Henry M. Malburg Funeral Home with Rev. David Ledbetter and Rev. Bob Harvey of the Heritage Church of Macomb Township.
