Ursula E. Holz, age 87, a resident of Ray Township for 11 years and previously from Shelby Township, passed away on Friday, March 28, 2014 at Henry Ford Macomb Hospital. Ursula was born January 22, 1927 in Detroit, the daughter of Johann and Augusta Schmidtke. Ursula was a long time member of Peace Lutheran Church in Shelby Township where she spent many years singing in the choir. In later years, she attended church with her daughter Gale at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Washington Township. She enjoyed doing crossword puzzles, watching old John Wayne movies, knew every “The Walton’s†TV show by heart, but most of all, just enjoyed being with her family and friends. Ursula is survived by her children: Gail (Larry) Feeback of Ray Township and Mark (JoAnn) Holz of New Haven. Also survived by grandchildren: Mark, Stacy, & Gretchen, great grandchildren: Luke, Reese, & Layla and was preceded in death by her brothers Herman and John Schmidtke. Funeral services will take place on Tuesday, April 1, 2014 at 11 AM at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church of Washington Township with Pastor Jeffrey Draeger officiating. Burial will take place at the Prestonville/St John Cemetery in Shelby Township. Donations to Our Redeemer Lutheran Church would be appreciated. Visitation will be on Monday from 2-8 PM at the Henry M. Malburg Funeral Home, Romeo Michigan.
