Velma Susan Buckley

Velma Susan Buckley, age 84, 59 year resident of Ray Township, passed away Sunday, June 21, 2009 at her home. Velma was born March 20, 1925 in Detroit, the daughter of Carl and Amanda (Werth) Mikolowski. She married Edward Buckley on December 12, 1947 in Detroit and together they were lifelong member of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Washington Township. Her hobbies included canning, tending her garden, and being with her beloved family. Velma is survived by her husband Edward, children: David (Laurie) Buckley of Richmond, Michael Buckley of Memphis and Suzanne (Mike) Shamaly of Macomb, MI. Also survived by 6 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren and one sister Francis Alford of Imlay City. Funeral services will take place on Wednesday at 2 PM at the Henry M. Malburg Funeral Home of Romeo with Pastor Jeffrey Draeger of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church of Washington officiating. Visitation will take place on Wednesday from 10 AM till 2 PM.
