Walter A. Seyfferth

November 8, 1936 — September 28, 2020

Walter A. Seyfferth, age 83, a resident of Washington Township since June of 1968 passed away on Monday, September 28, 2020 at his home.  Walt was born November 8, 1936 in Grosse Pointe Farms, the son of Walter H. and Geonell (Belanger) Seyfferth.  He married the former Dianne (Ward) on May 5, 1962 at St John the Baptist Church in Amherstburg, Ontario.  Walt worked as a production manager for 35 years at Ring Screw in Troy, retiring in 1995.  Upon retirement, he enjoyed his grandchildren, golfing, softball, bowling, reading, and playing euchre. He was a member of the St Clement Men’s Club for many years, proudly served his Country in the Navy for 4 years, and was a longtime member of the Striber-McVicar Post # 2052 in Romeo, where he served as its service officer.      Walt is survived by his wife Dianne, children:  Patti (Jerry) Taylor of Huntersville, NC., Lisa Seyfferth of Washington Twp., Laura (Tim) Wellman of Shelby Township and Wally Seyfferth of Center Line, MI.  Grandchildren include Jessica (Taylor) Goode ( Tyler) of Mt Holly, NC, Bradley Taylor, Mariah (Knott) Ryskamp (Austin) of Clarkston, MI., Hannah Seyfferth (Dale), Dylan Seyfferth (Dale), Sarah Wellman, and Joey Wellman. Also survived by great-grandchildren Harrison & Landon Goode along with siblings:  Linda Seyfferth of Center Line, MI., Wendy (Keith) Overbaugh of Elk Rapids, MI., Allen Seyfferth of Presque Isle, MI., and Ralph Seyfferth of Grand Rapids, Michigan.     Funeral services will take place on Friday at 11 AM at St Clement Catholic Church of Romeo with visitation on Thursday from 2-8 at the Henry M. Malburg Funeral Home, Romeo Michigan. Burial will follow at Christian Memorial Cemetery in Rochester with military honors to take place.  Donations to St Jude’s Children Hospital would be appreciated.
