Warren B. Watson, age 83, a 10 year resident of Romeo and formerly from Troy, MI., passed away peacefully at his home on Tuesday, August 5, 2014 with his family by his side. Warren was born July 6, 1931 in St Clair Shores, Michigan, the son of Victor and Edda (Hess) Watson. He married the former Rosemary Kecskes on May 1, 1954 at Guardian Angels Catholic Church in Detroit. Warren worked 29 years at the GM Tech Center in Warren for Fisher Body as a Supervisor in the Body in White Group, retiring in 1988. After retiring from GM, Warren was a consultant for the Lamb Industries. He had many interests beside work, including golfing, bowling, just “fixing things†and being an amateur coach, manager, and umpire of local baseball teams. Recently one of his former players called him “Our Sparky Andersonâ€, what an honor! Warren, along with his wife, loved to camp and travel in their RV. Warren is survived by his wife Rosemary of Romeo, children: Michelle (Jeff) Sparling, Steven (Terry) Watson, Cindy (Gary) House, and Scott (Bobette) Watson. Warren was a “papa-dado†to 10 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild along with brother-in-law Don Blake and sister-in-law Dottie Gillete. Preceded by sister Shirley Blake, and brother Victor Watson. Memorial gathering will take place at the St Paul’s Episcopal Church (11100 32 Mile Road, Romeo, MI 48065) on Saturday, August 16 at 1 PM for a memorial service celebrated by Rev. Stacey Salles. Family will receive friends from noon on Saturday till the service starts at 1 PM. Donations to the Season’s Hospice, Salvation Army, and Humane Society in memory of Warren would be appreciated.
