Wilho E. Pylkas, age 85, a 10 year resident of Imlay Township and formerly from Detroit, passed away on Saturday, May 2, 2009 at St Joseph Mercy Hospital in Port Huron, MI. Wilho was born March 2, 1924 in S. Porcupine, Ontario, Canada, the son of Edwin W. and Helvi S. (Kallio) Bylkas. Wilho worked for Chrysler Corporation as a welder at its Jefferson Plant in Detroit for over 40 years before retiring in 1990. He enjoyed doing crossword puzzles, collecting “stuff”, & loved his pets that he had over the years. Wilho is survived by his special friends, Stan and Diana Monroe of Capac along with their children. Services will take place on Wednesday at 11 AM at Grace Lutheran Fellowship of Bruce Township with Pastor Eric Majeski officiating. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery in Detroit. Visitation will be from 5-8 PM on Tuesday at the Henry M. Malburg Funeral Home, Romeo Michigan.
