Willard Leslie Watterson

Willard L. Watterson, age 98, a resident of Washington Township since 1940, passed away on Thursday June 15, 2017 at Henry Ford Macomb Hospital in Clinton Township. Willard was born July 26, 1918 in Detroit, Michigan. He was the son of John and Genevieve Watterson. He married his wife Doris on November 7, 1940 in Lapeer, Michigan Willard worked for many years at Detroit Edison as a Line Man. He liked to garden, to read and was a traveler. He was also the Fire Assistant Chief of Washington Township Michigan for 38 years. He was a long time member of the Washington United Methodist Church and a member of the Masonic Lodge. Willard is survived by his children: Jean (Mike) Hacker of Virginia and David of Imlay City. Grandchildren include Leslie, Kathryn, & Brian and great grandchildren include Benjamin, Conner, & Abigail. He was preceded in death by his loving wife Doris in 2014. Funeral services will take place on Tuesday, June 20, 2017 at 11 AM at the Washington United Methodist Church (58430 Van Dyke, Washington MI 48094.) Visitation will be on Monday from 2-8 at the Henry M. Malburg Funeral Home, Romeo Michigan. In lieu of flowers; donations to the Masonic Scholarship Fund would be appreciated.
