William Arthur Oberly

William Arthur Oberly,(Bill) 85, born in Detroit, MI and formerly living in Clinton Township passed away at home on December 10, 2017. Bill is survived by his wife Dolores of 61 years, and his ten chidren and their spouses. Teri (Glenn) Burt, Mary (Richard) Wakefield, Thomas (Leza Myers)Oberly, Laurene (Thomas) Koller, Maureen (Dave) Eggert, Brian (Tammy) Oberly, Patrick (Laura) Oberly, Kathleen (David) Gray, Colleen (Russ) Fedewa, Timothy (Angela) Oberly and many loving grandchildren 35 total including: Shawn and Sheena Atnip, Noel and Chris Burt, Katie and Paul Myers, Erin Nichols, Shelby and Stephen Jacobs, Colin Wakefield, Brittany and Robert Nelson ,Amber and Jon Gaines, Savannah and Joe Salley, Charlie Myers, Jenn , Jason, and Lauren Koller, Rachel, Sarah and Rebecca Eggert, Patrick, Nicholas and Carly Oberly, Stephanie and Alex Easton, Kristina, Brian, and Elizabeth Oberly, Tara, Samantha and Maggie Gray, Isabel and Delaney Fedewa, Christina and Alyssa Oberly, 11 great grandchildren and extended family. Bill loved music and was an avid piano player. Bill spent much time with his family playing scrabble and loved crossword puzzles. He was in the Korean war and had an honorable discharge from the army. He worked as a machinist which he retired from. Wake at 9 am and Memorial Service at 930am on Friday, December 15, 2017 at St. Michaels Church 40501 Hayes Road Sterling Heights, MI 48313. In lieu of flowers, donations should be directed to Capchun Soup Kitchen in Detroit, MI or any donations directly to Mrs. William Oberly will go to Father Sam and Sister Eugenia for their Catholic Missionary work in Africa.
