William Frank Carroll, age 74, a 33 year resident of Romeo, formerly of Richmond and Algonac, Michigan, passed away on December 28, 2022 at his home surrounded by family. William was born on October 24, 1948 at St. Joseph Hospital in Mount Clemens, the son of William Frank and Sybil Cavill (Bradley) Carroll. William married Linda Joy Bolak on July 27, 1974 in Algonac, Michigan. During his working years, William was a teacher at Anchor Bay Schools. After a number of years, he went on to get a certification in Special Education. He was awarded Middle School Teacher of the Year in 2003. He was a coach for football, basketball and track at various times during his career. All while teaching, he also ran a landscaping/snow removal service, Carroll Landscaping.
William was a member of Romeo United Methodist Church. In high school, William played piano, as well as a variety of horns. He was an avid bowler and golfer, named Captain of his golf team. Bill loved to watch the Detroit Tigers and Lions games with his boys. He also earned the nickname Fish due to his ability to find all the great spots on Lake St. Clair to catch Perch and Bass. The owners of the Marina would send fellow fisherman in his direction. Bill was a very generous soul almost to a fault, always willing to help friends, family and students. Right up to the end, he kept everyone laughing with his great sense of humor. He was truly one of a kind and will be deeply missed by all that were a part of his life.
William is survived by his wife, Linda Joy Carroll, sons Bill (Katie) Carroll of Addison Township, and Aaron (Jessica) Carroll of Macomb Township, as well as grandchildren, Liam, Chloe, Addison, and Avery. He had tremendous love for his family and always said his grandchildren were his greatest medicine.
