William J. Glavan

William J. Glavan, age 83, a resident of Washington Township since 1964, passed away on Wednesday, February 20, 2013 at Beaumont Hospital in Troy. William was born September 15, 1929 in Kinney, Minnesota, the son of Frank and Mary (Verent) Glavan. He married the former Bonnie Schlegel on July 30, 1960. William received a degree in Education from the University of Wisconsin Stout college. He then taught in many schools, but for over 30 years taught at Avondale High School as a woodshop, drafting and math instructor. William served his Country during the Korean War in the Army. Upon retirement, he enjoyed spending time with his wife, grandkids, and his many dogs over the years. William is survived by his wife of 52 years Bonnie of Washington Township, children: Robert & Michael of Washington Township and Patricia (Jason) Dobson of Macomb Township. Also survived by his grandchildren Brandon, Joshua, & Benjamin Dobson. Funeral services are private. Arrangements by the Henry M. Malburg Funeral Home, Romeo Michigan. Services: None planned
